Arianne H. Leuftink
Arianne founded ZEST Advice with the perspective to leverage a broad background in investments into advising and supporting both investors as well as funds on their private equity ‘needs’ and requests. With 20 years of investment experience of which twelve years in (global) private equity this provides an extensive basis of knowledge and networks to operate effectively in this segment of the investment market. Having worked at the ‘super’ buy-side and also at the far end of the sell side her experience can be valuable to a wide range of private equity players.
Her experience spectrum stretches from having worked as a senior investment officer at the Dutch IBM Pension Fund from 1990 to 1998 having been responsible for top-down asset allocation topics including the portfolio management of the Dutch equities portfolio, and an extensive private equity portfolio among other ad-hoc responsibilities. Private equity investments were made in fund of funds, primary funds, secondary transactions and co-investments.
Arianne joined Wilshire Associates in 1998 to establish its European presence of the Wilshire Private Markets Group being responsible for developing Wilshire’s European private equity fund of funds programme. At Wilshire she co-led the European marketing and investing efforts of the Amsterdam-based business. In cooperation with the other team members she sourced, invested in and monitored European and Israeli private equity and venture capital funds. She sat on a number of fund Advisory Boards and was a member of the Global Investment Committee of Wilshire.
In 2004 she started discussions with BerchWood Partners from the U.S. to develop their European placement agent business for private equity funds which resulted in setting up ZEST Advice.
In addition, Arianne is since 1997 a member of the editorial staff of VBA Journal, the Dutch equivalent of the academic Financial Analyst Journal.
